Use the Task/info manager to create and assign tasks to users. The task assigned to the user will relate to the open/active patient.

Create a New Task

Open the patient file.

Click on the “ Task/info manager” folder

Click on the “ New…” button on the toolbar.

A blank record will appear with the date/time automatically filled in, will appear at the bottom section of the form.

Complete the form by filling in the remaining fields using the drop down lists and free text fields.

Type

Select an option from the drop down list. This list is user-definable and can be edited by right clicking in the field and selecting 'edit list’ IDS6101 Lists .

Creator and Send to

The user names available in these lists are based on the user accounts setup in IDEAS in the system configuration section.

Category

Select an option from the drop down list - again this list is user-definable and can be edited using the method described above

Subject

This is a free text field. Type the description of the task.

Priority

Select from Normal, High or Low. This is not a user definable list.

Remarks

The remarks field is a free text box. Type any remarks relevant to the task.

Due Date

Set a due date if applicable.

 Once the task record has been completed, click on the “ Save” button on the IDEAS toolbar.

The task will now appear on the task/info manager section ion the homepage of the user whom it has been allocated to in the ‘send to’ box.

When signed off the task will disappear from the list on the user’s homepage
