All ultrasound records in IDEAS scheduled for today will appear in the worklist on your ultrasound machine. When you select the scan from the worklist and then perform the scan, the results will be exported to IDEAS to populate the patient file. Any images and measurements will be part of the imported u/s record.
Step-by-step guide
- Any ultrasound record in IDEAS scheduled for today will populate the worklist in the ultrasound machine. Open the Management Module and filter on Ultrasound records to view all scans scheduled for the selected day. The scans displayed in the management module will all appear in the worklist.
- If a patient is missing from this list, you'll want to add a scan to their patient file in the Ultrasound folder. Go to the Ultrasound folder of the patient and select New from the main IDEAS toolbar. Enter today's date and the scan type as shown below. Press Save. The saved scan is now displayed in the management module and will also populate the ultrasound worklist.
- Go to the Worklist on the Voluson.
- Select Search to refresh the Worklist.
- Select the patient from the Worklist and then click Start Exam.
- Perform scan as usual and select End Exam once complete. Ending the exam will trigger the export of the ultrasound data (images/measurements) into IDEAS. The data should populate the IDEAS ultrasound record within a minute or two. You will need to refresh the record to see the new data once received. Press
in the main IDEAS toolbar to refresh. 
Note: Only scans selected from the worklist will be exported back to IDEAS. If a patient does not appear in the worklist, you must open IDEAS and add a planned u/s record with today's date in the Ultrasound folder of their patient file. Ensure the ultrasound record is saved. Return to the ultrasound machine and refresh the worklist, by pressing Search, until the patient appears in the list. The patient should be visible within a minute or two of saving the u/s record in IDEAS.
