Config. - adding Insurance Company/Health Authority

Insurance coverage may be selected while entering an encounter for the patient. All active insurance coverage will appear in the upper right-hand corner of the encounter for selection.
IMPORTANT - Health authority funding source are also added in this section, in the same way as insurance companies
To add Insurance Company/Health Authority names to the funding source list
Go to File>System Configuration>Health Authority
Complete the relevant details
This Company name will now appear on funding source menu drop downs throughout IDEAS
"Company name" and "Do not create invoices" are the fields that are essential for correct processing of invoice items. All other fields are optional, to record contact and/or mailing information regarding the insurance company.
Do not create invoices - Check this field if, and only if, the clinic has arrangements to invoice the insurance company/health authority directly for patients' services rendered.
When this field is checked the you will invoice the insurance company(s)/health authority in a separate invoicing run. When this field is not checked then insurance company items will appear on the patient's invoice.
NOTE: if you have IDEAS version 7.0.14 or above, you will see 2 further fields in the Health authority section of System Configuration; UDF code and a ‘web portal’ tick box'.
You can also obsolete the authority/company record rather than hard deleting it, to remove it as an option in a patient record
