Background

The nature of software is that it always is in development  - whether to address bugs, feedback from customers that helps us improve the user experience and optimise the database as well as introducing new features. Mellowood Medical would like all their customers to be running the very latest version of IDEAS and it is important that the customer reviews the latest release notes so that all bugs, improvements and features are understood before requesting an IDEAS version update.

Prerequisites

The decision to update IDEAS is typically agreed between the IT department and the clinic manager. There usually are formal procedures in place to ensure that the update is tested first in a test environment and signed-off before applying to the production environment. Some customers also request that a change control procedure is in place before any work can be carried out. The installation of an IDEAS update is currently only offered using the 'push' method.
