  1. ‘Eye’ icon for login password

The portal login password field has an ‘eye’ icon that can be toggled ON or OFF by the user at the time of password entry. It is helpful to reduce typing errors, especially for complex passwords with special characters, etc. It should minimize invalid password attempts and account lockouts.

This feature is available for all desktop and mobile web browsers.

  1. Multi-Factor Patient Login (MFA)

In addition to the Email and SMS-based authenticated login, Portal 3.0 supports ‘Google Authentication’.

Patients must follow a few easy steps to configure Google Authentication for an added layer of security to their accounts. Google Authentication is a free service for both the patients and the clinic, i.e. there is NO cost associated with the set-up, download of the app, etc.

  1. Password Management

As an optional feature, additional password security measures can be enabled. See the options below.

  1. Prioritise Patient Messages

Clinic staff can set a priority for a patient message in IDEAS. In Portal 3.0, any messages sent with priority set to ‘High’ in IDEAS EMR are represented as a priority in the Portal.

  1. Online Appointment Request (Available in this release for Beta trials in production, using selected live or test patients. Please contact support@mellowoodmedical.com for further information)

Patient Portal 3.0, offers a new elective feature that enables patients to ‘Request’ Appointments through their patient portal app, after checking the appointment roster as configured for patient’s visibility within the IDEAS EMR.

Clinic staff is informed about this request within IDEAS, and once confirmed by the staff, the patient gets notified about the Appointment Booking.

  1. Patient Documents

Patient Portal 3.0 has an improved design of the patient documents section, with columns on Publish Date, Expiry Date, Category, etc.

It also now includes a filter-by-category option.

  1. Medical Records/ Clinic Forms - Access

We’ve listened carefully and as requested by many of our clinics, the patient Medical Forms section defaults to the ‘Available’ tab, in the Portal 3.0 release.

This change has been done to eliminate any confusion and allow patients to quickly identify any new forms requested for them to complete.

  1. Improved search for accounts in the users list

User list search for clinic Admin/ portal super users, now supports search with First Name <space> Last Name.
