Gamete in - bringing in egg/embryos with multiple original freeze dates

As described here - How to - Gamete Movement IN , to record a shipping movement in of eggs or embryos, you should do this using a treatment cycles called ‘Gamete Movement In’ and a ‘Gamete Movement in’ lab event.

  • You should enter gamete in cycles using the date you froze the material in YOUR clinic, not the date in the original clinic.

  • You will be setting a luteal day 0 to in the cycle to ensure that the freeze date in the lab event corresponds to the age of the embryo relative to day 0 .

For accuracy in your lab events, and also for HFEA reporting purposes, if you have embryos with different freeze dates in the supplying clinic, these must be added in individual Gamete In cycles, with differing luteal day 0 dates.

This will ensure that all the embryos are documented with the correct age in the patient record in IDEAS but also that you get the correct number of gamete in forms IN IDEAS PRISM Portal to be able to select appropriately from the HFEA inventory .

I entered this wrongly into IDEAS and now i either don’t have enough gamete in forms, or when i complete one form, both turn green.

You MUST delete all movement in forms using IDEAS PRISM Portal BEFORE you make any changes to cycle in IDEAS core

You will then need to remove the lab events for the embryos frozen on a different day and then re enter them in a new Gamete In cycle. You may have to delete thaw events in subsequent FET cycles to allow you to do this.

We appreciate this may be difficult. If you have many subsequent thaws to delete, or complex data to remove , please contact Mhairi at support@mellowoodmedical.com and we may be able to help.
