Patient Record Reports & Clinic-wide Queries
Queries/Reports allow data within IDEAS to be be used in various different output formats. They can be considered like specifications—a list of fields, filtering criteria and grouping options - to retrieve data from the IDEAS database.
Reports - generally related to individual patients and folders in IDEAS (e.g. Demographics, Medical Records, Lab), and mail merge to Word or pdf files.
Queries - clinic wide summaries. mostly in Crystal Report output format
The presentation method for queries and reports, e.g. mail merge, report, spreadsheet, can be selected using the Query Designer.
Queries are used to retrieve data for different purposes in IDEAS:
TaskLists
Data entry validation
Pre-filling Progress Notes with default values
The formats allow for data analysis, grouping by patient, treatment cycle and also whole patient group data.
Some query and report templates are preloaded into IDEAS by Mellowood and can be seen by clicking the reports icon in the toolbar but you can create copies of these and edit them. You can also create completely new ones.
Editing and creating new reports and queries is done using the IDEAS Query Designer. This is a wizard tool for creating queries and reports. We recommend you contact Mellowood support for help in creating and editing the more complex query types.
