SPERM FREEZING/RECEIVING FROZEN SPERM

Freezing a fresh sample in your clinic
A fresh sample, which is to be frozen, should be processed as described in the preceding section.
Select ‘Freeze’ from the purpose drop down menu
Click the Details button at the bottom of the screen.
Click Add Procedure button and select the Freeze sample procedure
Click on Freeze sample and select.
Complete the data entry and save the record. Notice that the form has a section for a Post thaw analysis. The record will be available for data entry once a post thaw sample is thawed.
The number of units stored’ will be auto filled once the next dialog box is completed. All boxes with a light blue background are auto filled data.The completed storage record will look like this example.
The Store semen window will open and allow you to store the sample(s) in the cryobank.

Click on the icon to search for available places.
Left click the Save button to commit the completed the record.
if you wish you Choose a container color for the container which holds the samples (i.e. goblets or canes).
There is provision for two colors.
(If only one color is required, just select the color of the left hand color box).
When samples are to be stored in separate locations in the cryobank, left click the Store in multiple locations check box. This will open an alternative storage window which will allow you to distribute the samples over several locations.
Or left click the three dots (…) found to the right of the Storage location box left from the icon. This will open a dialog which lets you select a storage position.
To select a storage location you can use the binoculars icon which will open the next view:
Open the desired tank by left clicking the [+] symbol on the left hand side. Continue down to the last storage level and open an unused position.
Press the OK button to complete the process.
The storage location will be applied to all samples being banked. If some samples are to be banked in a different position, highlight the specific sample(s) and repeat the process previously described, choosing a different location. Notice the separate locations in the example below.
Complete the remaining dialog boxes.
Consent expiry and Storage ID are preset in the System > Options section (main system tool bar). Once you have made completed the data input selections, press the Save button. This will save the record into the cryobank.
Details of each storage position can be displayed.
The sample history is created and displayed in the bottom table
The snowflake icon will appear in front of the procedure meaning that the sample is frozen.
You can see that there are total # frozen in this procedure is 3 and there are 3 till frozen.

Receive Frozen Sperm Samples from another clinic
Click on to open the “Add semen sample” screen and choose Receive frozen semen.
The Receive frozen semen option is used to record the details of a frozen sample from an external cryobank.
Complete all the details you have about the frozen samples you have received
Click OK
