Drug Prescriptions (DP) folder
Use the Drug Prescriptions folder to create, view, print and store drug prescriptions for patients.
for help in configuring drug prescription templates follow this link Config. - Prescription drugs & prescription templates
Prescriptions created in the patient record cannot be set to automatically generate invoices for drug sales. A Pharmacy sales record should be manually created for each item on the prescription. This will autogenerate a list of billable items, which can then be used to generate an invoice
Creating New Prescriptions in Patient File
Click the “Drug Prescriptions” folder.
Click the “ New…” to create a new blank prescription form
A new blank prescription will appear in the window, with the current date.
Enter the prescribing physician and remarks if applicable.
The remaining fields such as “Doctor” and any “Remarks” required should be completed.
You can now add each drug individually or by adding a pre-configured template.
Use of prescription templates
If using a template;
Click 'Insert template' at the bottom of the page
“Insert drug template” window will appear - Select from the pre-defined list of prescription templates.
Click the “Save” button to save and insert the template.
Details from the template will appear in the window based on the selected template.
The drug names added by the use of the template can still be manually modified, for example modify the drug name, text, and/or the number of units. Additional drugs may be added by clicking in the last entry and using your arrow key to move to the blank row. Drugs can be removed by deleting the value in the drug name and quantity field.
