When booking appointments in the Appointment Diary (or when creating a roster you may wish to allocate all time slots to a specific procedure) , you may select one of the available options from the Procedure dropdown.  There will be times when you will want to add or remove items from the list of procedures.  

The Procedure drop down list is compiled of any items in the ‘Drugs Tests and Procedures’(DTP) area of System Configuration which have ‘Include in appointment list’ ticked in their configuration.

Items of type ‘other’ and ‘investigation’ will have this option available

• The new procedure will now be available in the Procedure dropdown in the Appointment Diary.

If the procedure you want to associate with an appointment is not present in the DTP area you should create a new item - DTP Config. - Tests DTP Config. - Other (appointments and procedures)

Removing a procedure

There will be times when you will want to add or remove items from the list of available procedures - simply untick ‘include in appointment list’.

if the creation of the procedure was an error the procedure can be deleted completely

Encounter templates and procedures associated with appointments

You can associate an Encounter template with an appointment procedure.

You can also configure the appointment to ensure that, when the patient is marked as arrived in the appointment diary , and encounter template is automatically generate (note that an invoice is not automatically generated.
