IDS6150 Paragraph templates

When a sentence, or group of sentences, is used many times in free-text fields throughout IDEAS you can make a paragraph template of it - you can then select the template with a couple of clicks and the paragraph will be automatically entered.

The content is designed by clinic staff and can be used by all staff when filling in repetitive content.

The paragraph template library, and configuration section for adding or editing templates is found at File > System configuration > Paragraph templates.

Paragraph template library

The library of created templates is seen at the top half of the window.

Each paragraph template has a reference name which allows users to select it easily from the library's pop-up box when entering text in a comment or remarks field.

Paragraph content shows the text which will be entered if that template is selected.

Towards the bottom half of the screen is the template design section.

Designing paragraph templates

Paragraph templates are designed in File > System configuration > Paragraph templates.

  • Click new

  • Give the template a reference name

this name will be what you use to invoke the paragraph so make sure it indicates the content

  • Fill in the content of the paragraph - there is room for many sentences and paragraphs

Once saved the paragraph template will be available for routine use.

You can also edit paragraph templates after you have created them by going to the same area in system Config - just click save afterwards
